WICHITA, Kan. - The CEO of aircraft maker Hawker Beechcraft has said a decision will be made about the company's future location by the end of March 2011, according to an article by the Wichita Eagle.
The company had received offers of incentives reportedly worth millions of dollars to relocate its headquarters to Baton Rouge.
Hawker Beechcraft spokeswoman Sarah Estes confirmed that Boisture said at the company's quarterly meeting "there will be a decision on what and where the footprints of Hawker Beechcraft will be by the end of the first quarter of 2011."
"He promised there will be a decision made."
Kansas Gov. Mark Parkinson had made a counter-offer to keep most of the company's jobs in the state, but that was later rejected by the aircraft workers' union. Their current contract expires in August.
