Officials with Wichita-based Hawker-Beechcraft are scheduled to meet with Kansas leaders Tuesday. That's when we could learn more about the airplane maker possibly moving some or all of its operations to Baton Rouge.
The company confirmed it was considering Louisiana earlier this year. A workers' union flier released over the weekend indicated the entire company and 6,000 jobs would leave. Some workers accuse Louisiana of using Katrina money or stimulus money to steal jobs from other states.
Governor Bobby Jindal would not comment on whether or not talks are taking place. He did say the state has made itself more attractive to business. He also said resources are available to offer companies even after the Nucor plant deal was approved last month.
