Harvey company gets corps levee contract

The U.S.Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a $9 million contract to Buck Town Contractors of Harvey to enlarge a levee and replace a floodwall in St. Charles Parish.
The corps said the projects, running from Cross Bayou to St. Rose, will reduce the risk of storm-driven flooding.
The company will begin work this month. Both projects are expected to be completed in early 2010.
