Harvard shocks New Mexico in first tourney win
UNDATED - Harvard's men's basketball program has established an athletic achievement that ranks up there with some of the school's academic highlights.
The 14th-seeded Crimson sprung the upset of the NCAA tournament so far, dumping third seed New Mexico 68-62 in the second round. It's the first NCAA tournament win for the Ivy League champs and comes against a Lobos team that was expected to advance deep into the tournament.
Wesley Saunders scored 18 points and Laurent Rivard had 17 to pace Harvard's advance to a meeting against Arizona.
Alex Kirk had 22 for New Mexico which hasn't made it out of the first weekend of the tournament since 1974.
