BUTTE LAROSE - Mandatory evacuation orders were lifted for areas of St. Martin Parish early this morning, including the small fishing and hunting community known as Happy Town.
The area is still under a voluntary evacuation, but that didn't stop Geno Collatta from trying to check in on his two camps.
"A friend and I lost one home down, further deep down but we can't get to it, we got at least three and half four feet of water," said Collatta. "My other one has about two feet of water, but that's alright, material things, you can repair material things but you can't repair the health."
The roadway leading into the area is still saturated from water and St. Martin Deputies are urging people returning to bring bug spray to combat possible increases in mosquitoes due to standing water.
The pontoon bridge in Butte LaRose is still closed to traffic and deputies are letting residents into restricted areas.
