Hammond Police investigate double murder of aunt, nephew
HAMMOND - Police are investigating a double murder that happened early Sunday morning in Hammond.
Hammond Police responded to the scene in the 1400 block of Hoover Street at 1:00 a.m. to find two people had been killed at the residence. Officers said they found 65-year-old Beverly Thompson outside of the residence and 39-year-old Toreo Thompson inside the residence. Both had suffered apparent gunshot wounds.
The victims, who police later identified as aunt and nephew, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing with investigators yet to identify a suspect or motive.
