A tourist eating lunch in a park was bashed in the head with a hammer in New York City. The accused attacker, John Yoos, is held without bail on an attempted murder charge. Yoos said nothing in court when a prosecutor called the attack "a completely random act of brutal violence on a total stranger." Hugo Alejandre of Barcelona, Spain was treated for a spinal fracture and deep cuts. Authorities say Alejandre was sitting on a bench in City Hall Park when Yoos hit him in the head and back. Bystanders intervened and Yoos was arrested.
