Hall of Fame moves induction ceremony to Thursday
BATON ROUGE - Weather-related road conditions have prompted the Louisiana High School Athletic Association to postpone its Louisiana High School Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/1cuP9FS ) the event, originally scheduled for Wednesday, will now be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Crowne Plaza.
Former St. Amant High softball star Leah Heintze and football coach Larry Dauterive lead a group of eight set to be inducted.
Welsh's Dutton Wall, Vidalia's Dalton "Dee" Faircloth and Woodlawn-Shreveport's A.L. Williams are other football coaches being inducted. Williams coached two NFL quarterbacks, Terry Bradshaw and Joe Ferguson, at Woodlawn.
Girls basketball coach Danny Miller of Jennings, Buckeye coach-administrator C.G. "Corky" Yates and James R. Boyett, who officiated baseball and basketball for 38 years, are the other inductees.
