Gunman used gun with laser in robbery, shooting
HAMMOND - A man using a gun with a red laser shot two people in a robbery on Thanksgiving, police just said.
Both victims were shot in the leg but one of them was hit twice, also in the shoulder. The department released details of the violent attack Monday.
Investigators said the unknown trigger-man was the passenger in a silver Chevy Impala. The car stopped at a driveway on Washington Avenue near the city's Zemurray Park when the gunman got out, told the victims to empty their pockets and then shot them.
The shooter was wearing a ski mask and the car had a temporary tag but the victims could not make out any markings, police said.
