Gunman hoax leads to federal charges
A student at the University of Virginia at Wise campus faces federal charges for calling 911 and falsely reporting there was a gunman on campus. Prosecutors say the call from Bryant Hairston prompted university leaders to place the school on lockdown last week. Hairston faces charges of making false, fictitious and fraudulent statements and representations. He was charged last week by the university police department with falsely summoning law enforcement.
