BATON ROUGE - Investigators with the School Drug Task Force charged two 14-year-old boys with having a gun on a school campus in East Baton Rouge Monday.

Task Force members said one 8th grade student brought an unloaded handgun with no magazine to Crestworth Middle School on Monday. Authorities said he gave a bookbag with the weapon in it to another student, and that an anonymous student let a school resource officer know about the weapon.

Task Force members said no threats were made in connection with the incident and the boy brought the gun in to show off.

Authorities said the two teens will be booked into Juvenile Detention. Students with information about this incident or similar ones should notify a school administrator, or they can text "CS225" plus their message anonymously to CRIMES (274637).
