BATON ROUGE - Wednesday night, Metro Council approved the name change for GSRI Drive.
The street will become Innovation Park Drive. The approval came eight months after the council voted against the name change.
The street is located northeast of Nicholson Drive, west of Gardere Lane, south of Burbank Drive.
Switching the name was proposed by LSU's Business and Technology Center last year. They said the name switch would make it better for business.
One business was opposed to the change because of the cost to change labels, business cards, and letterheads.
There is no date set yet to when the signs will change.
