Baton Rouge - State Representative Eddie Lambert, R-Gonzales, says his district is growing in population.
He says that will cause it to shrink in size. Ascension and Livingston are two of the fastest growing parishes in the state.
Louisiana lawmakers will soon start drawing new political district lines based on the 2010 census.
Each district has to be close to the same population count. Lambert says that could result in his district being centered on the Prairieville area.
Ascension's population was about 76,000 in 2000. It's grown to about 108,000. Representative Lambert says his district alone has grown by 22,000 people.
