Grant helps Zachary enforce safe driving
ZACHARY - The Zachary Police Department received $39, 000 in grant money to crack down on unsafe drivers.
The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission provided the grant to the police department.
Police Chief David McDavid said the money will pay for patrols specifically watching for impaired drivers, speeders, and seat belt checks.
McDavid stated the patrols will include DWI checkpoints sometime soon.
