Grandma and grandson arrested for arson

GLENMORA, La.- A grandma and her grandson were arrested for arson with the intent to defraud, according to State Fire Marshal Butch Browning. The fire happened at a home in the 1600 block of 6th Avenue in Glenmora, La. in January.

According to investigators, Elsie Mae Clark, 68, and her grandson Brandon Parish, 19, intentionally set fire to their home in an attempt to profit from insurance coverage. The blaze caused nearly $300,000 in damage.

Clark and Parish were booked in the Rapides Parish Jail.
