Grand jury to hear Lavergne case Wednesday
LAFAYETTE - A grand jury will hear evidence tomorrow in the case against Brandon Scott Lavergne.
Lavergne is accused of kidnapping and murdering U.L. Lafayette student Mickey Shunick, who disappeared May 19 after leaving a friend's home on her bike.
A tip led Lafayette police to arrest Lavergne July 5. He's charged with aggravated kidnapping and first-degree murder.
Attorney's for Lavergne filed court documents asking for a hearing to show probable cause for the charges.
