Grand jury returns no true bill for murder suspect
BAKER - A grand jury chose not to indict the teen at the center of Baker's first murder investigation of the year.
The grand jury returned no true bill for murder against Kenard Gaines, 17. Baker Police accused him of killing Kortlon Johnson, 19, back in January.
Investigators claimed Gaines and Johnson argued outside a home on Daniels Street, and that Gaines then shot Johnson several times before fleeing on foot.
Gaines surrendered to investigators after his name and image were released to the media.
