Grambling State has won its first Southwestern Athletic Conference championship in 25 years.
Sunday's 15-2 defeat of Alcorn State mean fist-year coach James Cooper could celebrate Grambling's first SWAC championship since 1985 - when Cooper was 3 years old.
Adrian Turner threw a complete game for Grambling, allowing two runs and five hits while striking out seven, and was named tournament MVP after Sunday's win.
