Govs. Jindal, Branstad make Outback Bowl wager
BATON ROUGE - No matter what the outcome of the Outback Bowl, food banks in Louisiana and Iowa will be winners.
Governor Bobby Jindal and Governor Terry Branstad announced today they'd made a friendly wager over the outcome of the bowl game between LSU and the University of Iowa.
If the Tigers win, Gov. Branstad will donate 100 pounds of Iowa pork to a Louisiana food bank and an Iowa food bank. If the Hawkeyes win, Gov. Jindal will donate 100 pounds of Louisiana seafood to the same food banks.
The governors both said they were looking forward to the game, and grateful that their wager would benefit the hungry in both states.
LSU takes on Iowa in Tampa at noon Central Time on New Year's Day.
