Goodbye to the Stick
SAN FRANCISCO- The City by the Bay is saying goodbye to Candlestick Park, where the San Francisco 49ers and the Giants celebrated championships.
Thursday night, Sir Paul McCartney plays a concert that's expected to be the last event at the stadium before its demolished and replaced by a housing, retail and entertainment development.
Candlestick Park opened 50-years ago and served as the home of the 49ers and Giants.
The 49ers have a new stadium about 45 miles south.
The Giants last played there in 1999 before that team's new stadium opened.
