Gonzales woman wanted for cashing forged, stolen check
GONZALES - Sheriff's deputies in Ascension Parish asked for the public's help on Thursday in locating a Gonzales woman accused of cashing a stolen check at a local grocery store late in November.
Investigators said they began to investigation a forgery complaint after a woman, later identified as 29-year-old Dinea Himel, tried to cash a forged, stolen check at a Gonzales grocery store. While her first attempt at cashing the bad check was unsuccessful, Himel was able to later successfully cash a check in the amount of $555 at a different grocery store in the same area, according to detectives.
Himel is wanted by the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office on charges of theft and forgery.
