GONZALES - Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office deputies said they arrested a man in the process of burglarizing a residence on Tuesday.

Law enforcement said they caught Damon Delmore, 36, of Gonzales in the process of invading several homes in Bayou Grand South Subdivision and arrested him after a chase on foot.

The investigation revealed Delmore attacked two elderly occupants during his run of burglaries, but no serious injuries were reported, according to APSO Chief Tony Bacala.

Deputies said Delmore had a glass smoke pipe in his possession when he was arrested.

Delmore is charged with two counts of simple burglary, trespassing, two counts of simple battery, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to authorities.
