BATON ROUGE- A misdemeanor warrant roundup is underway in Baton Rouge, where the City Constable is trying to whittle away at a stack of more than 100,000 misdemeanor warrants.
Space has been cleared at the city jail to provide room for offenders until their warrants are cleared.
"A warrant is a warrant, and it's just like there's a right and there's a wrong there is no in between if you have a warrant or you don't have a warrant if you've got a warrant then you have a problem if you're not taking care of it," said Major Reginald Brown of the Constable's office.
Brown says people who have a warrant to clear should come to city court to take care of their business, or face fines and jail time.
