Godzilla beer settlement
LOS ANGELES- A brewery in New Orleans agreed to change the name of one its beers as part of a settlement with the company that has the rights to the movie monster Godzilla.
New Orleans Lager & Ale Co. agreed to change the name of its Mechahopzilla beer at the request of Toho Co. Ltd. which sued last year.
Toho claimed the beer's name and logo are copycats of Godzillas' mechanical twin, Mechagodzilla.
Lawyers for the brewery argued the beer was a parody but the case was settled before it went to court.
