Girl hit by car while going to bus
BATON ROUGE - Police said a young girl hit by a vehicle this morning in Baton Rouge heard her school bus coming and ran out to get ready for it when she was struck.
Cpl. Don Coppola said the bus was turning the corner onto the girl's street when she heard it and ran outside. He said an oncoming vehicle hit her and made "light contact," hurting her leg.
Coppola said the vehicle's driver stopped at the scene to make sure the girl was alright, and would not be cited.
