DARROW - Hunting for ghosts is for professionals only. Professionals like the "Ghosts of Louisiana Paranormal Society," a group of paranormal investigators who check out haunted places in southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi.

Each member of the group, also called GOLAPS, specializes in a certain type of phenomena. The team spends hours at a single location recording sounds, video and EVP's, or Electric Voice Phenomena.

"A lot of them are actually loud enough to hear," said GOLAPS member Chad Waguespack. "It almost seems like the person, whatever it is, is standing right next to the recorder."

The group said it's usually the skeptics who find themselves suddenly faced with something unusual.

Rachel Hopkins is the GOLAPS medium. She said she's been speaking with spirits for more than a decade.

"I basically speak to all of the spirits," says Hopkins. "I see where they go, where they belong and where they came from."
