EAST FELICIANA - State Police added another charge of vehicular homicide today against the man accused of driving drunk and killing several people in a crash in East Feliciana Parish.
Trooper Russell Graham said investigators re-arrested Brett Gerald, 30, after a sixth victim in the crash died this weekend.
Troopers said Gerald was driving the wrong way down La. 67 last Wednesday night when he hit a car carrying seven people. Five died at the scene and two were taken to local hospitals, but one died this past weekend.
Investigators said a sample of Gerald's blood showed he had a 0.15 blood alcohol content at the time of the crash. He now faces six counts of vehicular homicide and other charges.
Court officials said Gerald has a bond hearing scheduled for tomorrow afternoon on the new charge.
News 2's Chris Nakamoto will have more on Gerald's new charges tonight at 6 p.m.
