Geismar biorefinery returns to fuel production
GEISMAR - Renewable Energy Group, Inc. announced on Monday the sale of its first commercial-scale truckloads of renewable hydrocarbon diesel produced at the company's Geismar biorefinery.
The Geismar plant has been idle since the fall of 2012, but the biorefinery is back in action after it was purchased by REG in June.
The advanced biofuel from REG Geismar meets or exceeds federal diesel fuel specifications and delivers toward the country's energy diversity, environmental and food security goals, according to REG.
