LIVINGSTON- Polls opened at 7 a.m. today, and people here will be deciding on a tax to fund the mosquito control operation.
Currently, the agency bills people and most don't pay. Leaders have warned, if the tax fails spraying will end.
There are also community elections for justice of the peace and tax renewals in other areas.
Also, Louisiana's 5th Congressional seat is available. Fourteen candidates want the job vacated when the office-holder took a job with the governor. The election likely won't be decided until a November runoff.
