Closings Tuesday in Rutgers webcam spying trial
NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - The defense has rested in the trial of a former Rutgers University student who is accused of spying on his gay roommate.
Defendant Dharun Ravi did not testify. Ravi is accused of using a webcam to watch and to record Tyler Clementi's sexual encounter with another man.
Clementi killed himself after he found out his encounter had been recorded.
Ravi is not charged with Clementi's death. He faces several charges, including the hate crime of "bias intimidation." If convicted, Ravi faces up to 10 years in prison. Closing arguments are expected to begin tomorrow.
