Gas prices found below $3, could keep dropping
BATON ROUGE - Some fuel stations were pumping out drivers' dreams Tuesday: a gallon of gas under $3.
Sam's Club at Cortana Place and Airway Drive sold regular for $2.97 and Costco at Dawnadele Ave near Airline Hwy sold regular for $2.94. That's some of the cheapest gas in the entire state. The low prices brought out drivers, looking to fill up and save a few extra cents.
"That little extra money always helps," said Carolyn Johnson.
"Oh I'm loving it," said Guy Parker. "Maybe I'll take a road trip or something. Go visit people and cousins and family."
According to Gas Buddy, the national average is $3.42. Louisiana comes in fourth for the cheapest gas in the nation at $3.19. The average price in Baton Rouge is $3.17. Prices now are the lowest they've been since 2010.
There could be a 5-10 cent per gallon decline by the end of September.
