Gas hits 2008 low in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE- A price war over gasoline forced a ten cent drop at the pumps Friday.
Costco and Sam's, the two stores that have been jockeying for the cheapest fuel in the region, both dropped the price of a gallon of regular fuel to $1.89. Wednesday, the stores were at $1.99. Friday's price is the lowest since Fall 2008.
At both stores, the low price was for members only. But, non members could get gas for only a few pennies more.
Friday, the average price of gas in Baton Rouge was $2.39.
The low prices are expected into 2015.
