NEW ORLEANS - State-licensed casinos won $185.2 million from gamblers last month, down considerably from the December holiday figure of $211.4 million.
The number is also lower than the January 2012 figure of nearly $185.7 million.
Harrah's New Orleans Casino saw a slight January-to-January increase, going to just over $27 million from just under $27 million a year earlier.
The total for riverboat casinos was down in the January-to-January comparison. It was $126.9 million last month and $126.4 a year earlier. Only Baton Rouge's riverboat market improved.
