BATON ROUGE- Louisiana's gambling board is hearing presentations today from three companies applying for the state's last available riverboat casino license.
One applicant includes major operator Penn National Gaming Inc., which is proposing a second casino in Harvey.
Another applicant is Creative Casinos LLC, owned by a former Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. chairman, targeting Lake Charles.
The third applicant is St. Gabriel Downs LLC, owned by a Louisiana businessman and who is also targeting Lake Charles.
The Louisiana Gaming Control Board put the license up for applicants after it was returned to the state in April by Pinnacle. Pinnacle cancelled a plan to use the license for its second casino-resort complex in Lake Charles.
