Gadhafi's Mystery Daughter
Rebels who took over the Libyan capital of Tripoli uncovered evidence of a longstanding lie told by dictator Moammar Gadhafi. Gadhafi claimed his adopted baby daughter was killed in an air attack in 1986 when President Regan ordered a strike on his compound. He even showed a picture of a dead child and said it was his daughter, Hanna. The U.S. attack was in retaliation for the Libyan-backed bombing of a nightclub in Berlin that killed two American servicemen. Turns out, Hanna was not dead. When rebels took over Gadhafi's compound last week, they found a room with Hana's birth certificate, and pictures of a young woman with the name Hana written on the back. A Libyan diplomat at the United Nations in Geneva says it was common knowledge that Hana Gadhafi wasn't killed in the air strike and everyone in Libya knew it was a lie.
