G Eric Gordon says he can 'give more' to Pelicans
NEW ORLEANS - Eric Gordon is tuning out trade talk and whispers that he's lost a step.
Gordon says his dip in scoring from his days with the Los Angeles Clippers results mostly from New Orleans' balanced offensive scheme. Still, he says he can "give more" as he continues to show more reliability than he has in three years. After missing much of the past two seasons with a right knee injury, Gordon has played in 40 of 43 games this season, averaging nearly 16 points.
He says he isn't sure what the Pelicans' long-term plans for him are, but remains focused on winning, not the Feb. 20 NBA trading deadline.
Pelicans coach Monty Williams also says Gordon can produce more, but stresses that he's been pleased with the guard's contributions this season.
