Future of school funding in question
BATON ROUGE - Lawmakers working on next year's budget now have new questions to answer when it comes to school funding.
The Louisiana Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that the state can't use its normal school funding formula for its voucher program. Critics of the program said doing so took away money from the Minimum Foundation Program, or MFP, meant for public schools.
Gov. Bobby Jindal said Tuesday the state would find a way to fund the scholarship program, but didn't give any specifics.
News 2's Rob Krieger gets answers today on what this could mean for public schools' budgets next year.
