Future of BR to be discussed Tuesday
BATON ROUGE- The group tasked with implementing the future plan of the city will meet for the first time this year on Tuesday.
The group, known as FUTUREBR, is set to talk about the status of the project at 10 a.m. at City Hall.
FUTUREBR is the land-use and development plan for East Baton Rouge. Some of the discussion items include growing neighborhoods in Mid City, downtown, LSU (including Old South Baton Rouge, Nicholson and NorthGate), Southern University, the medical district near Pennington Biomedical Research Center and the Broadmoor Shopping Center/Cortana.
In all, the plan includes 577 action items to be implemented by 21 lead agencies.
The public meeting is set for April 23 in Council Chambers.
