Funeral for slain 6-year-old girl moved to Gonzales

DONALDSONVILLE - The funeral for a slain 6-year-old whose body was found in a trash can is now scheduled for Monday in Gonzales.

Police found the Ahlittia North stabbed to death in Harvey, where she was living with her mother. Investigators arrested Matthew Flugence in connection with the killing.

North lived with her father during the school year and attended Donaldsonville Primary.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at the Christian Assembly Church located at 42158 Hwy 941 in Gonzales. The burial will follow at the First Baptist Church Cemetery.

A fund has been set up to help pay for funeral and burial costs. Contributions can be made at any Capital One bank branch in the name of Ahlittia North.
