Fun crafts for kids on summer break
BATON ROUGE - A do-it-yourself expert has some fun ways to occupy your kids' time while they're on summer vacation.
D.I.Y. expert Julie Laperouse said crafts involving the Ninja Turtles or the Disney movie "Frozen" are a big hit with children.
Laperouse demonstrated ways to make a Ninja Turtle themed gift basket. All you need is a Chinese takeout box, some colorful tape and a marker.
For crafts involving "Frozen," Laperouse recommended using air-dry model clay. Children can leave their handprint in the clay, and once the clay is done heating, the final product looks like a snowflake.
