Fugitive task force catches murder suspect
BATON ROUGE - A fugitive task force arrested an East Baton Rouge man wanted in connection with a deadly shooting last month in the city-parish.
U. S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force members located 22-year-old Aljerard Warner at a home on East Black Oak Drive Monday morning in Baton Rouge.
Police said Warner shot and killed Derrell Haynes on Dec. 23. Investigators said the two were in the middle of a drug deal in a parking lot on Choctaw Drive and 38th Street when Warner shot Haynes in the chest.
Police said a friend drove Haynes to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Authorities booked Warner into the parish jail on charges of first degree murder.
