GROSSE TETE- The body of a man who ran from Iberville Parish Deputies after an interstate traffic stop was found by searchers in a bayou early Wednesday morning.
Deputies said he ran after the car he was riding in was pulled over for a traffic violation. Investigators found counterfeit money and guns in the car.
Deputies arrested the driver of the car, Elesha Gunn, 24, charging her with monetary instrument abuse.
Iberville Parish Sheriff's spokesperson Aubrey St. Angelo says they almost caught him Tuesday afternoon, but the man took off and dove into the icy bayou.
"Deputies observed him jump into the bayou, big splash, went under water and he was unable to maneuver the water himself and it resulted in what we have today," said St. Angelo.
Federal Investigators will question Gunn in relation to the 'funny money.'
