More than 70 south Caddo Parish residents still living in a Shreveport hotel are ready to go home.
They had to leave April 19 after rising pressure in a natural gas well prompted evacuation of their neighborhood.
On Friday, they were told to expect to stay in the hotel another week.
Work to reduce pressure is getting results, but more slowly than expected.
Exco pays for the hotel, plus $300 per household each day.
As of Thursday, the company had paid out $250,000, and officials handed out $1,000 checks on Friday.
