SCOTTSBORO, ALABAMA- A man who had his dead wife buried next to his front porch has agreed to remove her remains and have them cremated.

A court ordered 74-year-old James Davis to remove the body of his wife Patsy after the city of Stevenson won a lawsuit that claimed the grave amounted to an illegal cemetery and had to be moved.

Davis asked for a cemetery permit from the town after his wife died in 2009.

The city council denied it but he buried her in his front yard, anyway.

Davis told a judge he'll hire a contractor to remove the body and the judge still has to agree.
