Friends, family react to Jan Waters' guilty plea
Friends and family of Alan Waters said justice has been served after six years of waiting.
Alan was killed in his home in May 2004 and his ex-wife, Jan Waters, was arrested for his murder weeks later. After years of delays, Jan's trial ended before it started with a guilty plea to manslaughter.
Alan's sister and two of his friends said regardless of the difference between manslaughter and murder, they're glad Jan said she's guilty. They said the plea is the best outcome for the couple's children, who would have had to testify in the trial.
Jan will be sentenced on Dec. 16th. She faces a minimum of 20 years in prison.
