Friday afternoon storms wreak havoc in Bayou Pigeon
BAYOU PIGEON - Strong storms damaged a trailer park in Iberville Parish Friday evening, according to authorities.
Sheriff Brett Stassi said several trailers at the park in Bayou Pigeon were damaged, and one unoccupied trailer was blown over. Three of the trailers had roof damage.
"It was like bricks," Destiny Riley, an 11-year-old who watched the situation unfold, said describing the hail.
She continued, the weather quickly turned violent and a trailer went flying.
"The trailer came off the ground, it moved three feet," she said.
Nearby, a 2x6 piece of wood pierced the side of a home. Roofs had been torn off and windows busted at other homes in the community.
Several cars were also damaged by hail during the storm, according to Sheriff Stassi.
No injuries were reported.
