BATON ROUGE- According to LSU baseball coach Paul Mainieri, Freshman pitcher,Carson Baranik, has been suspended indefinitely after being arrested and booked with drunken driving.

Reports say that 19-year-old Baranik was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison early Saturday on one count each of first-offense DWI, disobeying a red light and reckless operation of a vehicle.

The right-hander was expected to earn time as a reliever this season. Baranik was drafted in the 41st round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft by the Cincinnati Reds but decided to enroll at LSU.

Baranik is from Bossier City.

LSU baseball coach Paul Mainieri reportedly says he took action as soon as he learned of the incident Saturday.
