Freezing start, sunny finish
After our 30th freezing start in Baton Rouge this winter, sunshine is fully back in our forecast for the first time since Friday. Look for wall to wall blue skies today with northeasterly winds holding temperatures in the middle 50s. If you're keeping score, that is about 10-15 degrees below average. Overall, it should feel a bit warmer, especially when compared to yesterday. Still, the cold morning and a chilly breeze may call for a jacket.
Keep the outer garments handy for tonight, though another freeze is not expected in Baton Rouge, northern locations likely will freeze as clear skies and light winds lead to a perfect setup for nighttime cooling. Lows should bottom out in the lower and middle 30s.
