Free wifi in downtown area
BATON ROUGE- The Downtown Development District in conjunction with the Riverfront has implemented free wireless internet downtown this month.
The coverage area stretches from the North Boulevard town square to the Riverfront. Officials said the cost were approximately $50,000 for outside wifi out of the total $1.2 million dollar upgrade to the riverfront.
North Boulevard Town Square has hosted more than 250 events, and officials hope this will bring even more people and businesses into the area.
You can log on by clicking "Downtown Public Wifi" and agreeing to terms on your wifi-enabled device. Officials also said although people can log on the wifi, it is still in its testing phase.
