Free help filing taxes
BATON ROUGE- A new tax program is offering help to people in the capital area.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program is available to the elderly, disabled, and people with low to moderate income.
"It's a free program, so not only can you save the money to get your taxes filed, but they also make sure you get all the refunds your entitled too," said Jillian Sergio, an investment manager in Baton Rouge.
The program works with tax filers to make sure people are getting all the refunds they're entitled to. This includes their earned income tax credit.
